Job Summary:

The Head Cross Country Coach is responsible for all aspects of the men’s and women’s cross country programs.  The expectations are: to provide leadership and management functions to produce quality intercollegiate cross country teams that represent a commitment to excellence both academically and athletically; that student-athletes will fulfill their academic, personal and athletic potential;  that students will successfully complete chosen programs of study;  the recruiting emphasis will be upon talented student-athletes who complement and enhance the campus community; the teams will annually compete for the regional championship.

As a team member on the intercollegiate athletics staff, provide support to the management of the Pronghorn Center.  This may include game management duties for other sports contests, fitness center management, and support for the facilities when used by campus partners and outside groups.

Supervisory and Management Responsibility:

This position has direct supervision over the Assistant Coach and Cross Country Team

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required by the Position:

  • Demonstrated commitment to student success            
  • Ability to represent the college to the community in a positive manner
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of and ensure compliance with Region IX, NJCAA Rules and Regulations, Title IX and Clery Act Campus Safety Authority guidelines and responsibilities and all related college procedures and expectations.
  • Competence with Microsoft Office® preferred

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, master's preferred
  • Successful coaching experience, preferably at the college level
  • Successful recruiting experience
