The Department of Family Medicine of Michigan State University's College of Human Medicine seeks a primary care physician for an annual year health programs track position (multiple year renewable contract) at 100% time. This position is 60% clinical with the remainder of the position time divided between teaching and scholarly activity. Ambulatory clinical practice is in the Family Health Center at the MSU Clinical Center and inpatient activity is at Sparrow Hospital. It is expected that candidates will be primarily interested in teaching at the medical student and resident levels with an interest in participating in development and testing of new methods for delivering primary care to patient populations as well as scholarly activity focused in these realms.Department Website Address
It is anticipated that the successful candidate will be MD/DO residency trained and board certified/eligible in Family Medicine. Current physician medical licensure and current DEA pharmacy registration in Michigan are required. Two to five years' experience in an approved residency program preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are expectations of this position. Scholarly activity that meets the minimum expectations of an Assistant/Associate Professor rank according to the Health Programs criteria of the College of Human Medicine at Michigan State University (www.chmfacultyaffairs.msu.edu) is also required. Clinically the candidates will be expected to see the broad range of family medicine patients and work in both ambulatory and in-patient settings.
