The University of St. Thomas invites candidates to apply for a temporary part-time department assistant position with the Murray Institute.

The Murray Institute sustains and enhances the quality of Catholic education in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis through the development, delivery, and funding of advanced professional programs integrated with theological education to those who are employed in the educational ministries of the Archdiocese.

The successful candidate will be able to perform administrative support functions including:

  • Maintenance of our constituent database and email lists.
  • General office duties such as scanning, photocopying and maintaining/ordering office supplies, managing office mail, and submitting catering orders
  • Receiving and organizing applications for academic programs.
  • Assisting in preparation for events such as information sessions, orientation sessions, and the annual colloquium.
This part-time position is expected to last 6 months and the expected schedule for this position is 10 hours a week, dependent on business needs. The work schedule is negotiable but must fit within a Monday - Friday schedule between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. This position is not benefits eligible.Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and two years of clerical experience.

Preferred qualifications: Experience or knowledge of Catholic education in schools and parishes.

Knowledge of: Office support practices and procedures, such as operation of common office equipment, computer applications related to the work, record keeping, filing methods, and professional writing skills.

Skill in: Providing varied and sometimes confidential work, meeting deadlines, and contributing effectively to the mission of the Murray Institute.
