Duties and Responsibilities: 
-Provides technical support for the integrated Banner/Oracle database and associated environments; 
-Supports implementation and enhancements of Banner applications and other existing/new commercial systems; 
-Performs system integration between Banner and other institutional systems; 
-Performs data analysis and support of institutional research as necessary;
-Works with IT staff and end users to identify system requirements and perform analysis of technical alternatives; 
-Works directly with Banner process team leaders and functional users; 
-Performs systems analysis, design, and programming as required and develops reports/applications as necessary in support of college-wide administrative computing and business needs; and, 
-Performs all other duties as assigned.  

Preferred Qualifications:

Applicants should be motivated self-starters, and have the ability to work with end users to elicit requirements, as well as to offer alternatives that may not be immediately known to end users that fit within the Banner application framework. Communication skills, both written and spoken, with technical and non-technical staff are very important. The ability to build data constructs similar to data warehouses is a plus. Demonstrated ability to work with back-end systems, front-end support staff, and to independently synthesize applications within the Banner framework.

Minimum Required Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.  

Required Licenses and/or Certifications: NA  

Type and Amount of Experience Needed:

One (1) to two (2) years in application development, preferably in a Banner or similar student information system environment, and/or institutional research.

Preferred educational background in computer science or related discipline, with an emphasis on mathematics and/or statistics. Years of experience in the field may substitute to some degree for educational credentials. 

Preferred languages, environments, and tools can include, but are not limited to, things similar to the following: 

-Linux (preferred) 

-SQL and PL/SQL 
-Linux shell scripting 
-Oracle Pro*C 
-Windows PowerShell 
-Microsoft development languages 
-Groovy on Grails or other "on rails" technologies 

-Oracle database (preferred)
