Visiting Assistant Professor (VAP), Management Information Systems Department
The Management Information Systems Department at the College of Business and Economics, West Virginia University is seeking qualified applicants for a Visiting Assistant Professor (VAP) position beginning August 11, 2017, or if not filled, January 1, 2018. This is a non-tenure, continuing appointment.
Duties will include teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses in Management Information Systems (MIS). The MIS program includes classes in topics such as data analytics, decision modeling, lab based online teaching tools, DFD diagrams, ER diagrams, TCP/IP model, Wireshark, PHP, C, C++, C#, Java, Linux, Windows, computer literacy, computer security, software engineering and iPhone app programming. Duties will also include student retention, recruitment and placement activities.

- A Master's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems or similar field at the time of appointment is required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the subject matter, evidence of teaching excellence with proven teaching experience is required.
- Knowledge in the areas involving information systems practitioner or practical research applications is highly valued.
- Applicants must be fluent in writing and speaking English.
