System Integration Engineer

Primary Function of Organization Unit: The 900+ positions of the Facilities Division service the students and staff of the University's teaching, research/administrative space and 2, 240 acres of infrastructure. The Facilities Division provides design and building services, maintenance, custodial, landscape, solid waste removal, utility, mail, and motor pool services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The goal is to deliver cost effective services to the University, ensure completed projects and maintenance that conform to codes and regulations, while minimizing University liabilities and disruptions caused by the maintenance, repair, building, and equipment modifications to the University. The Utilities and Engineering services department has responsibilities for the production and distribution of steam, chilled water, electricity, potable water and storm/sanitary sewer systems on the three NCSU campuses.
Essential Job Duties: This position will supervise the System Integration functions within Utilities and Engineering. This will include management of the ELCS development and staffing of a 24/7 Control Room to monitor system information and dispatch technicians as needed. Systems monitored will included steam, condensation, chilled water, electrical distribution, building automation systems, and critical process equipment. Development of smart/micro grid will include the implementation of strategies to install a demonstration project for Smart/micro-grid in support of the Energy Management Strategic Plan. This position will direct campus demand side management programs and develop strategies for software integration. This position will identify and implement state of the art technologies within the ELCS framework to support sustainability goals
Department Required Skills: Experience in system integration/information setting with focus on utilities. Experience consisting of supervision, project management, maintenance and planning activities. The successful candidates will have strong management and supervisor skills in addition to excellent written oral communication skills.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: BS degree in system technology discipline, engineering or related field. Experience in system/control integration and data information management. Prefer 10+ years experience consisting of supervision, project management, maintenance and planning activities. Professional Engineer license is desired.
Necessary Licenses and Certifications: Valid Driver's license required. Valid NCDL within 60 days of hire, must be maintained.
