Primary Function of Organization Unit: The Entrepreneurship Initiative's role within the Office of the Provost is to build a culture of entrepreneurship at NC State. Using an interdisciplinary approach, we foster and teach innovation and entrepreneurship by providing resources and real-world experiences for students across the university. These include but are not limited to the Garage, a co-working facility that provides resources for student start-ups, an academic course within the General Education curriculum that focuses on entrepreneurial thinking, and co-curricular activities such as the Lulu eGames student startup competition.
Essential Job Duties: This position is responsible for providing marketing and event support for NC State Entrepreneurship, an alliance of programs representing entrepreneurship-related offerings at North Carolina State University. The ideal candidate plays a critical role in the implementation of marketing strategies and large-scale events, with a background in marketing or event management. The position will report to the Senior Brand Manager of NC State Entrepreneurship. Responsibilities include: * Handles the intake of Alliance marketing requests, produces timelines for the marketing team and tracks progress * Liaises with members of the Alliance to ensure marketing needs are being met, under the guidance of the Senior Brand Manager * Tracks goals within the editorial calendar, ensures projects are on-schedule and adjusts timelines accordingly * Provides logistical support for major events that support entrepreneurship (Lulu eGames, Entrepalooza); included by not limited to: venue, catering, speakers, participants, volunteers, other vendors * Responsible for post event follow-up, including assessment, invoice tracking and "thank you" notes * Provides meeting support for the Alliance, Advisory Board and Steering Committee; including but not limited to: reserving meeting location, preparing meeting agendas, taking and distributing minutes * Assists in the planning of annual startup trips for students * Manages application process, engaging the Alliance in the student selection process * Serves as the student contact; maintains relationships with company contacts * Assists Senior Brand Manager with implementation of marketing strategies and production of marketing materials * Assists in writing and curating stories about NC State Entrepreneurship * Assists in publishing social media marketing messages * Understands AP-style guidelines * Help publicize NC State and community events related to entrepreneurship * Understands the many entrepreneurship programs and offerings at NC State * Able to clearly articulate the entrepreneurial landscape to a variety of audiences * Understands the strategic goals of the university and how they relate to the Alliance * Familiar with NC State's branding standards * Fields inquiries to general phone line and email address * Serves as the first point-of-contact for the community for general inquiries * Builds and maintains strong working relationships with on and off-campus partners * Represents NC State Entrepreneurship at campus events * Meets deadlines imposed by vendors when planning events and establishes good working relationships * Produces and maintains up-to-date lists of entrepreneurship resources and their appropriate on-campus contact * Assists in the collection of data for surveys and annual reports * Maintains media library of resources for Alliance members *Please note that this is a time-limited position for a maximum of 3 years.*

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment.
