Duties: Under limited supervision, the grants coordinator will support the grants managers across multiple divisions within the Department of Medicine. This will include producing and/or managing financial reporting; assisting in proposal preparation, developing budgets, monitoring expenditures; monthly reporting; identifying incorrect transactions, preparing documentation necessary for corrections, and data entry of the correcting transaction; updating and distributing internal reports; serving as backup for purchasing, check requests and payroll. The Grants Coordinator B is expected to generate specialized reports for clinical trials and complicated program projects; develop budgets, monitor expenditures; identify incorrect transactions and take corrective action; reconcile and distribute internal reports. The coordinator will be responsible for monthly payroll processing. This position reports to the grants managers and senior administrator within the Department of Medicine and has a dotted reporting line to PSOM Office of Research Support Services.

Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree and 2 years to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Experience with NIH and other federal granting agencies is required. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Adobe, and Business Objects. Excellent critical thinking, analytical, verbal and written communication is required. Working knowledge of Uniform Guidance is required. Ability to apply solid organizational and time management skills to a deadline drive, multiple priority work environment is required. Managing financial reports; proposal preparation; developing budgets. Familiarity with UPENN sponsored research policies and related financial system is preferred.
