The ideal candidate will have conducted research in gene regulation, genomics, and/or epigenetics, in particular studies using next generation sequencing methods. Experimental procedures include processing human tissue and blood samples to generate RNA, DNA, and protein, and most importantly construction of libraries for next generation sequencing methods including ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, and ATAC-seq. The candidate should be able to independently troubleshoot these methods, which may be challenging and require optimization in human adipose tissue. Other techniques include may include quantitative PCR, molecular cloning, cell culture, western blots, and various biochemical assays.
