Posting Summary:
The Department of Family Medicine at the University of Virginia seeks applicants for a tenure-eligible Clinical Educator Assistant/Associate Professor position. This position will include both clinical (50%) and teaching (50%) responsibilities. Clinical effort will include providing direct care to geriatric patients in both a primary-care and a memory disorders clinic. Teaching effort will include working in the UVa School of Medicine's Center on Bioethics and Humanities, Generalist Scholars Program, and Geriatrics Clerkship to teach and conduct scholarly work in care for the frail elderly, rural health policy, and the role of primary care in population health. The candidate also would work in the Institute for Advanced Studies, in Culture in the University of Virginia's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, as a medical humanities fellow.

Administrative responsibilities include participating in the UVa Health System's committee structure, which encompasses the Department of Family Medicine, the School of Medicine and the Medical Center, and assisting in other areas as requested by the Department Chair.

Candidates must have an MD or DO and be board-certified or board-eligible by the American Board of Family Medicine by the start date. Preference will be given to candidates that have clinical practice experience, experience with team-based care models, electronic medical records (EMR), and clinical education interests.
