Degree and Area of Specialization:
Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, Architecture or closely related field or commensurate combination of education and work experience.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Minimum of seven years of experience in planning and design of construction projects.
Experience in the planning and design of construction projects.
Experience in project planning, campus planning, programming, and conceptual design is preferred.
Experience as a campus planner or consultant at a major university or institution is preferred.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of campus planning in programmatic/architectural planning.
Knowledge of campus planning and administration, and current developments in planning including social and environmental considerations.
License or certificate:
Registration as a design professional in the State of Wisconsin is preferred.
This position reports to the Senior Facilities Architect in Capital Planning and Development and works with Facilities Planning and Management (FP&M) leadership on aspects of facility planning and design. This includes the development of the University's biennial capital submittal to UW-System Administration. Considerable individual initiative and independent technical/professional judgment is required for effective project planning and development of the Campus Physical Development Plan.
