A Lab Manager/Research Associate 1 position is available at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Primary research focus in our laboratory is the development of unique nanomedicine platforms for diseases where mitochondria can serve as important targets.

Candidate’s primary responsibilities will be to assist rest of the members in the group and the PI with smooth functioning of the lab. Typical duties include but not limited to, ordering materials and supplies, maintaining tissue culture and cold room, lab instruments with any repairs and contacting vendors for the purchasing and equipment for lab. Candidates will have additional duties as per the need for smooth operation of the lab. This position will support career growth of the individual by providing opportunities to participate in conducting cell culture, conventional molecular biology/biochemistry experiments, grant writing, and providing resources to learn a large number of cutting edge techniques. Candidate must be passionate about research, energetic, and enthusiastic about lab work and flexible in working with multiple projects.

Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry/biochemistry/Biology/engineering with understanding of an experimental lab dynamics is necessary.

Patient safety is a top priority.
