Marketing Communications Specialist 3 (Digital Media Planner)

The Division of Strategic Communications, Department of Marketing is looking for a digital marketing specialist to develop, implement, track, and optimize our digital advertising for all Penn State campus locations. We are looking for someone with a thorough understanding of the digital media landscape. The person in this position is responsible for developing, executing, and monitoring digital media plans. They will be a day-to-day contact for Penn State's 19 campus locations for their digital marketing needs. The digital media planner will work as part of the University's central marketing team including strategy, development, and creative to launch campaigns on time and on budget. Specifically, the digital media planner will: Assist in developing digital media strategies that support their overall digital marketing program. Develop, manage, and optimize paid media campaigns and related documentation and budgets. Create monthly paid media reports with analysis of performance of campaigns along with strategic recommendations for continual improvement. Collaborate with agencies and other vendor partners. Work collaboratively with our campus partners in a consultative role on best practices around executing digital advertising campaigns. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of various paid marketing channels including paid search, retargeting, and video pre-roll, as well as, a knowledge of Google Adwords platform. The successful candidate will also possess good relationship building skills; strong verbal and written communication skills; and, exceptional analytical and project management skills.
