The finance division at Babson College seeks a qualified individual to fill the position of Lecturer in Finance starting the 2017/2018 academic year. This is a full-time position and the standard teaching load is 6 sections per year.
ABOUT THE FINANCE DIVISION: The finance faculty has 14 full-time members actively engaged in research and teaching, who maintain strong ties to both the academic and practitioner communities, especially in the downtown Boston financial district. The finance division is affiliated with The Stephen D. Cutler Center for Investments and Finance, which sponsors educational and thought leadership in finance and the regular Finance Division Research Seminar Series. The Center operates an investments lab and helps fund teaching and research resources, such as WRDS, TAQ, CRSP, Bloomberg, Factset, Eventus, Capital IQ, Rotman Interactive Trader, and Morningstar Direct.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: We seek faculty who are aligned with our values of teaching excellence, collaboration, diversity and inclusiveness, and those who embrace our mission to educate leaders who create great economic and social value everywhere. Candidates for this position must hold at a minimum a Master's degree (MBA, or Master's in Finance, Economics, or related discipline). Candidates also must have a minimum of three years of teaching experience, or demonstrate outstanding potential for teaching excellence from equivalent professional experience (e.g., leading training sessions or equivalent roles involving public speaking). Strong teaching experience at highly-selective AACSB or EQUIS accredited top-ranked schools is a plus. Qualified candidates will be community builders who will teach enthusiastically in Babson's integrated programs and who will engage in an active community of teachers, scholars, and learners. The candidate will be expected to be an active member of the finance division and academic community. Candidates must be willing to teach hybrid distance education. A willingness to teach some (but not all) courses in downtown Boston and at hubs in San Francisco and Miami is a plus. Also valued would be a willingness to support new educational programs and initiatives of the Cutler Center.
We seek faculty able and willing to teach and develop courses in real estate development, real estate finance, real estate investment, and an ability to teach courses on a wider range of finance topics. Knowledge of issues in international real estate and real estate in family enterprises is desirable.
Candidates must have a demonstrated capacity for either scholarly activity or meaningful experience as a real estate practitioner. Candidates who hold a doctorate should have a portfolio of intellectual contributions and developmental activities that demonstrate currency in finance/real estate and the potential for continued contributions in scholarly and professional engagement activities. Practitioner-oriented candidates must have held a full-time, high-level position as a real estate practitioner within the last five years and have a substantial ongoing connection to practice, as evidenced through consulting, executive education teaching, or continued professional development. In general, practitioner-oriented candidates should also demonstrate the potential for practitioner-oriented scholarly activity.
