Position Summary: The Division of Neonatal Perinatal Medicine at the University of North Carolina is seeking a full time, fixed term Research Instructor to work with a large, multi-site clinical research study with the goal of benefiting children's health. The responsibilities of this position include coordination of training for study coordinators at multiple evaluation sites, oversight of quality of study participant evaluations and data collection, and oversight and support of study coordinator's regulatory compliance at all study sites. The candidate should be able to manage a variety of administrative duties related to clinical research. The ability to handle conflicting priorities and make decisions regarding research activities is imperative. Outstanding communication, organizational skills, flexibility, and research experience are essential.
Education Requirements: Requires Master's Degree in a health or human services related field (e.g. Psychology, Occupational Health, Recreational Therapy, or Rehabilitation).
Qualification and Experience: Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience in clinical research with a demonstrated knowledge of managing day-to-day operations of children's health projects. Candidate must have prior knowledge and be proficient in working with multi-site studies, preferably NIH funded grants. The candidate must also have documented expertise overseeing the implementation, compliance, and maintenance of standard study related activities; including regulatory, training, recruitment, and reporting. In addition to those described above, essential qualifications include the ability to seek input and oversight when appropriate. Candidates must have demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with families, members of the clinical research teams, and sponsor representatives.
