FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR
Duties: The Financial Administrative Coordinator in the School of Arts and Sciences, Business Operations area provides financial and administrative support in concert with their Regional Business Office to ensure efficient and timely daily operations. This position will coordinate, monitor and process all transactions related to the office's financial activities including time reporting, purchasing, payables, reimbursements, purchasing card, and journal entries. The Financial Administrative Coordinator will serve as petty cash custodian, set up and maintain account and transaction files, provide front-end support for the office and will also complete other business administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications: High School diploma and 5 to 7 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, are required. BA/BS and 1-2 years' experience strongly preferred. Experience working in a university business office environment preferred. Experience with Penn's financial systems (BEN, UMIS, TEM/CONCUR, PennWorks and Business Objects/Infoview) is preferred.
The successful candidate must demonstrate strong customer service skills and be able to communicate effectively with faculty, staff and students; must demonstrate a proactive work style with strong follow-up skills; must be able to work under pressure; and must perform duties with strong attention to detail. In addition, the candidate must have effective interpersonal skills and be able to enforce guidelines and protocols with constituents (faculty, staff and students) in a diplomatic and assertive manner. This position requires the ability to switch gears depending on processing and/or project deadlines and remain flexible in order to adapt to changing priorities. Must have the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
