The University of Virginia department of Information Technology Services seeks an LSP to join our team. This position provides LSP support for Information Technology Services. The LSP analyzes, defines, tests, troubleshoots, and implements hardware and software technologies for units supported by Desktop Support as well as other assigned organizations within ITS. The LSP will support desktop, network, and shared server services and will serve as 3rd level support for client based Oracle & PeopleSoft issues for UVa departments and affiliates. This role will also provide management of computer inventory and maintenance of spare equipment pools.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Expert level ability in the installation and support of the most common business application (Acrobat Pro, Adobe Flash, Jave Runtime Environments 6 & 7, MS IE 8-10, MS Office suites 2007/2010/2013, MS Exchange, Oracle client 11, Firefox ESR, Safari, Chrome, OSX 10.7/10.8
Strong understanding of security principles, concepts and best operating procedures. Applicant must have through knowledge and understanding of HD encryption (TrueCrypt & MS Bitlocker), Antivirus suites (Symantec Endpoint & MS System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection).
