Required Qualifications: MD or equivalent. DEA Certification. Board Certified or eligible in Family Medicine. Experienced in clinical care; teaching residents and medical students. New York State Licensed or eligible. Skilled in the full scope of care rendered by Family Medicine physicians. Graduate of an Accredited Family Medicine Residency Training Program.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with grant writing, publication and/or interest in research.
Responsibilities & Requirements: The selected candidate will work for Stony Brook University's Department of Family, Population and Preventive Medicine as a full time, patient focused clinician who will be required to teach medical students and residents in a predominantly outpatient setting with some possible inpatient responsibilities in accordance with Departmental needs. The incumbent will be responsible for contributing to teaching, developing research projects and initiating innovating evidence based patient care programs appropriate to a major University.
Special Notes: This is a non-tenure track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible. Travel to the Department's three clinical and teaching sites in East Setauket, Southampton and Patchogue is required. **Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

To qualify for an appointment as Associate Professor, the candidate must meet the criteria established by the School of Medicine ( School of Medicine's Criteria for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure ).
