Department Overview
The Criminal Justice Department at the University of North Texas has 12 full-time faculty members, 6-8 part-time faculty members, approximately 750 undergraduate majors, and approximately 70 graduate majors.

Job Description
The Criminal Justice Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire an Administrative Specialist III to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

* Assisting with various administrative tasks related to the graduate and internship programs administered by the criminal justice department at UNT such as:
* Communicating with current and prospective graduate and internship students.
* Assisting with student recruitment and marketing efforts.
* Organizing and managing application materials.
* Facilitating student admissions, orientation and registration.
* Updating student degree plans and monitoring departmental policies related to student performance.
* Managing internship program database.
* Conducting administrative research tasks for the department chair.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a High School diploma or GED equivalent and three years of general office or clerical experience. Substitution of education for experience allowed. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:
* Basic MS Office skills.
* Ability to problem-solve and make decisions.
* Ability to effectively communicate.
* Knowledge of policies, practices, procedures and terminology of assigned function.
* Skill in composing routine letters and preparing reports.
* Skill in recording and compiling material for reports.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

* Ability to interact professionally and communicate collegially and clearly - orally and in writing - with faculty, staff, students, and alumni as well as administrators and professional staff in other units on campus

* Knowledge of UNT policies, processes, and automated systems.
