The University of South Alabama and its Pat Capps Covey College of Allied Health Professions seeks a dynamic and resourceful leader to serve as Chair and Program Director of the Department of Physician Assistant Studies.

The Chair/Director will report directly to Dr. Gregory Frazer, who became Dean of the College of Allied Health professions in the fall of 2016, following an extensive nationwide search. The position is a 12-month, administrative faculty appointment, on the tenure track, with faculty rank being commensurate with educational attainment and experience.

Physician Assistant candidates must be a certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) with current NCCPA certification, plus a current license or eligibility as a physician assistant in the State of Alabama. A masters degree in a related field is preferred.

Preference will be given to applicants with experience in an academic setting; a track record of teaching excellence; success in leadership roles; and five or more years of clinical experience.
