The Liquids and Elasticity Lab (LE.Lab) at Princeton University Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering is currently accepting postdoctoral or more senior applications for a number of positions at the cutting edge of soft matter research. At LE.Lab, we develop predictive models that rationalize the physics at play in problems arising in natural settings and table-top laboratory experiments. Through the elucidation of a variety of nature's mechanisms, our team aims to inspire and inform the design of new technologies. Iteration between observation, analog experiment and theoretical modeling is a critical feature of LE.Lab's research, which is interdisciplinary by nature at the cusp of fluid mechanics, flexible solids mechanics, non-linear physics, biology and design. We are seeking curious, hard-working, and innovative scientists interested in working in an exciting interdisciplinary environment. Qualified candidates will have a strong background in soft-matter, elasticity, fluid mechanics and a solid publication record. Experience with experimental techniques of soft-matter (e.g. optics, microfabrication) and computational work or mathematical modeling would be useful. Prior work with model systems involving polymer-based elastomers would also be beneficial. PhD in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering or Biological Engineering or Material Science required for this position. Applicants must apply online at and submit a cover letter, CV, statement of research interests and names and contact information of three references. This position is subject to the University's background check policy. For more information, see our webpage and recent papers:
