A member of the University’s Digital Strategy team, the Digital Media Producer produces video, audio, photography, graphics and related media for distribution on the web, mobile devices and social media platforms, to further the University’s strategies to engage with current and prospective students, alumni and the greater University community.

Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, media production, media arts, communications, cinema, journalism or other media production related degree, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. Knowledge of best design practices related to video, audio, graphics and animation. Experience with video storyboarding, shooting, editing and posting to social media and webpages. Additional skills in shooting and editing photography that can be shared online. Experience with single- and multi-camera production, including set-up and operation of video, audio and lighting equipment. Proficiency in current video editing software including Final Cut Pro, Avid systems or Adobe Premiere, and media encoding software or similar compression technologies to prepare media for both broadcast and internet distribution. Knowledge of media creation support technologies like the Mac iLife/iWork and Adobe Creative Suite, color correction, visual effects and audio mixing software. Experience with web-based presentation software such as Prezi and LiveStream and graphic design for digital and print media.
Interest in and understanding of mobile technology and how it can be used to capture and display video. Demonstrated creativity, skilled storytelling, and attention to detail. Ability to juggle and prioritize numerous requests and projects successfully. Excellent problem-solving and people skills. Knowledge of legal issues related to copyright and intellectual property and W3C web accessibility guidelines with regard to audio and video. A portfolio with examples of previous video production work (typically a DVD or YouTube portfolio). The portfolio should note the contribution to the projects displayed. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as required.
