TRUCK DRIVER

Job description

Duties: Penn Transit provides passenger transportation in and around the campus environment and surrounding community. Drivers are responsible for transporting students, faculty and staff, driving multiple size vans and transit buses. Drivers are required to provide safe vehicular transportation by observing all motor vehicle rules and regulations, courtesies and procedures as dictated by state and local motor vehicle statutes and University policy. This position may be required to undergo random drug testing and working schedules may be subject to change.

Qualifications: A High School Diploma or GED and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Valid Pennsylvania Class B CDL (commercial drivers license), with a 'P' (Passenger) endorsement and the 'L' (Air Brake) restriction removed. Ability to drive vehicles with a manual transmissions. Proven driving skills, preferably including experience with multiple size passenger vehicles. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Strong customer service skills. Good organizational skills and mechanical aptitude preferred. Availability and willingness to work occasional overtime, weekends and alternate work schedules.
