Job description

Duties: Oversee and manage daily operations of the Pavilion ensuring all simulation activities are prepared and executed on time and accurately while assuring the highest level of quality and fidelity possible; includes oversight of purchasing and inventory management, capacity planning and scheduling, forecasting and anticipating needs and resources; solution driven problem solving to optimize effectiveness and efficiency of operations working in collaboration with faculty and key players. Provide administrative leadership to support the Pavilion Division Chair, partner with the IT Director, Simulation Technology & Multi-Media Services, the Director of Finance, and other key stakeholders of the Pavilion and simulation activities; develop responsive systems and procedures to meet evolving needs, apply CQI methodologies; oversee database management and reporting, ensure optimal use of technology and the web; hire and supervise all Pavilion staff. Manage budget by analysis of all expenses and salaries for all activities within the Pavilion. Serve on taskforces and committees.

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and 5 to 7 years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Work experience in higher education or healthcare preferred. MS, MSN or MBA strongly preferred. Prior simulation operations management experience in healthcare and familiarity with medical equipment and supplies preferred.

Strong business acumen with solid financial and administrative experience essential; prior budget management and effective supervisory experience needed. The successful candidate will be a system thinker with strong problem solving abilities, excellent organizational and interpersonal skills who is able to communicate and interact effectively with all levels both verbally and in writing. Must be able to build effective relationships and work both independently as well as on a team. Strong initiative, discretion and follow-through needed as well as a strong service orientation.

Demonstrated database management and advanced PC skills in MS Office with the ability to effectively utilize the Internet required. Working knowledge of high fidelity high technology simulators such as Laerdal SimMan, B-line and/or other similar simulation related technology a plus. Knowledge of University policies and procedures desired.
