Job description

Duties: Reporting to the Associate Director (henceforth AD) for the Office of the Masters Programs (henceforth OMP), the Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting the AD in managing the academic and operational aspects of nine PSOM master degree (MS) programs. These programs currently consist of about 75 faculty and 400 students.

The Program Coordinator audits all PSOM MS student records in SRS/Pennant/local systems, including registration, grading, billing, transfers, withdrawals, leave, and graduation. Supervises the processing of: leaves of absence, withdrawals, course transfers, leave pending graduation and the like. Works with the AD in developing reports to track student registration, faculty load, courses taught, tracking dual degree and certificate students. Completes or coordinates the completion of external and internal reports like LCME, Peterson's Survey.

Support the AD in delivering the new coordinator orientation program, assist and monitor PSOM MS coordinators in the handling of student records. Serve as content expert to MS coordinators in SRS and other student systems.

Support the AD in regular program reviews of MS programs, the PSOM MS Faculty Advisory Committee and the PSOM MS Coordinators Committee.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and three to five years of prior work experience in academic administration or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Extremely strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and technical skills are required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products and have the ability to learn new computing programs with ease. Experience with student records systems, data management systems, web publishing software, and professional use of social media strongly preferred. Must demonstrate close attention to detail and careful work habits along with an ability to understand and interpret complex business processes and academic policies. Must be able to work independently, demonstrate initiative, exercise independent judgment, effectively balance multiple tasks simultaneously, and work collaboratively in a service-oriented environment. A positive attitude, strong work ethic, adaptability, and the ability to multi-task are essential. Familiarity with Penn academic systems a plus.
