Post-Doctoral Fellow-Kabos Lab
FT post-doc research position for projs in Onc/Molecular Bio with oversight, minimal supervision, provide training to faculty and staff in pre-clinical therapeutics development /Molecular Biology. Emphasis on molecular bio, non-coding RNAs, breast cancer initiating cells and treatment resistance. Bioinfo skills advantageous. Reports directly to PI,Peter Kabos MD, Located @ AMC in Aurora, Colorado. Conduct research, not eligible for tenure. -Daily research laboratory bench work skills, moderate lifting of lab supplies, handling of research lab animals, good hand to eye coordination. -Supervision of Research Assist and Sr. Research Assist lab pstns -Protein/mRNA/DNA extraction, processing and analysis; Molecular biology assays; -Processing, management of patient tissue samples (PBMC's, serum, normal tissues, tumor tissues) from phase I/II clinical trials. -Gene-expression and genomic-based platform use and understanding; -Cell line maintenance; in vitro efficacy testing, proliferation testing; -Collaboration w/other labs incl PIs, post-docs, or PRAs; -Prepare research prstns; train, supervise lab staff/students in experimental tech, preparing written manuscripts and submission for publication. Learn relevant techniques from PI and other staff and function independently
This post-doctoral research position will be responsible for Oncology/Molecular Biology research projects and will provide training to faculty and staff in pre-clinical therapeutics development and Molecular Biology.

Minimum Qualifications Education: Ph.D. degree in the biological sciences or related degree or MD.
Experience/Skills: Proven experience working with research laboratory animals,
working knowledge using a wide range of molecular and cellular biology
techniques. Cell culture, biochemistry and molecular biology expertise required.

Desired Qualifications Preferred qualifications: The successful applicant will have prior research lab
experience with a strong background in cell biology, molecular biology and
bioinformatics is a plus.
-Prior supervisory experience.
-The final candidate will be motivated, reliable and willing to learn new research
techniques, be team-oriented, flexible, able to communicate and possess the
ability to work independently and effectively with research details.
