A postdoctoral position is available in the Smalyukh Research Group, Department of Physics, MSE and RASEI, University of Colorado Boulder: .This positions is research focus on the development of super-resolution optical imaging techniques for the experimental studies of soft condensed matter and biological systems. Prior research experiences in one or more of the following research directions will be considered valuable: (1) development and use of super-resolution imaging techniques such as STED, PALM and STORM; (2) Nonlinear optics and imaging techniques like CARS, transient absorption microscopy and SRS imaging; (3) Pump-probe techniques; (4) Experimental study of liquid crystals, colloids, bacterial biofilms and other soft matter and biological systems using optical techniques. The position is initially for one year starting from August 1, 2017 (or later within 2017), but can be extended for up to three additional years. A PhD in physics or related fields is required. The candidates must be self-motivated, responsible, and have significant prior research accomplishments, such as first-author publications.
