Section Head of Pediatric Rheumatology
The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Rheumatology, has an opening for a full-time board-eligible/board-certified Pediatric Rheumatologist at the Associate Professor level or higher to work at the Anschutz Medical Campus and Children's Hospital Colorado in Aurora, CO and serve as Section Head of Rheumatology. This faculty member would be leading and building upon a division currently consisting of three pediatric rheumatologists as well as a pediatric nurse practitioner, pediatric physician assistant and clinical nurse specialists. The Section Head will serve as a full-time member of the faculty of the Department of Pediatrics and share in all clinical, teaching, research and scholarly activities of the section. This position will provide oversight to all elements of the section and will work collaboratively with leadership of both the Department of Pediatrics and Children's Hospital Colorado on overall program objectives. The Pediatric Rheumatology Program at the University of Colorado's clinical practice is based at Children's Hospital Colorado. The program draws patients from over a 500-mile radius providing tertiary and advanced care to these patients. Children's Hospital Colorado is routinely ranked as one of the top 10 children's hospitals in the US and the highest ranked in the Western US. A recent Children's Hospital Colorado strategic plan calls for a research area of focus in immunology, infection, and immunity. Over 650 talented faculty are in the Department of Pediatrics, which enables high quality and rich collaboration. There is a great opportunity to further develop a highly ranked clinical and investigative program through these and other collaborative programs located on the Anschutz Medical Campus. These include the internationally ranked Department of Immunology and the renowned Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes. Great opportunities exist for research, clinical and educational collaboration and expansion with the Section of Rheumatology within the Department of Medicine.
