Lecturer - Department of Planning and Design

The Department of Planning and Design in the College of Architecture and Planning (CAP) at the University of Colorado Denver (CU Denver) will establish and maintain a pool of Lecturers from which future appointments to temporary, non-tenure-track positions will be made. Appointments will be part-time (less than 50% FTE) and will be made semester-by-semester.

Lecturers selected from this pool will teach in the College's graduate program on the University of Colorado Denver campus. Classes taught may range from three credit hours to six credit hours. These may include lectures, seminars and studios. Compensation for Lecturers is a set dollar amount, determined at the beginning of each academic year, based on the number of credit hours per course.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelors degree in Planning or a related field is required. Professional work experience may substitute for the degree on a year for year basis. Applicants should have substantive knowledge of the planning and design fields and/or expertise and experience working in interdisciplinary collaborations and community engagement and/or understanding of planning and design applications and/or experience in project design, development, and management and/or broad knowledge of planning and design software.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference may be given to applicants with prior teaching experience, a record of professional practice in planning, and a professional degree in a planning-related field. Individuals with multi-disciplinary education and expertise are strongly encouraged to apply.

This temporary Lecturer pool is anticipated to remain continuously active through June 30, 2017-at that point, all applications will be cleared from the pool. You are welcome to reapply to the pool after that date.

This is a continuing pool of candidates that is anticipated to remain active through June 30, 2017. The Department Chair or the Search Committee may review the applicant pool at any time. The College is also recruiting Lecturers in the Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and Urban Design departments.
