The Department of Pediatrics Section of Hematology, Hemophilia & Thrombosis is currently seeking applications for a full-time, University Staff (non-classified) Grants & Contracts Coordinator.

Jobs in this career family provide direct professional support of research activities. Functions include contracts and grants solicitation and administration, grant/agreement preparation, review and negotiation, regulatory compliance, sponsor communication and post and pre award management, human subject compliance, research animal management, research laboratory coordination and instruction, environmental health and safety, radiation control, hazardous materials use, disposal and training.
Professionals at the intermediate level are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field.
At the intermediate level, duties may be more limited in scope and are performed with guidance and direction from other professionals.
This position will support the center's research functions which include research grants, clinical trials, investigator initiated studies, and program grants. Sponsors include federal agencies, entities within the pharmaceutical industry, other universities, as well as foundations. This position will be fiscal accountability for all grant management activities, including: budget management, the post-award process, and any project close-out functions for approximately 40-50 ongoing, concurrent projects. Additional functions of this position will also include: monitoring activities and prepare monthly status reports; processing financial activities in CU Marketplace and PeopleSoft; developing and maintaining a comprehensive grants calendar; reviewing expenditures; assisting with the completion of subcontract paperwork, monthly reconciliations, and submissions of ePERs; and performing all other duties and tasks as required and/or assigned.
PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses, if applicable.
Salary and Benefits:
The hiring salary for this position has been established at $48,000 - $55,000 and is commensurate with skills and experience.

A bachelor's degree in Science, Business, Finance, Administration or a directly related field from an accredited institution AND (1) year of professional level experience working with grants and contracts in an academic setting/system.
Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis, but not the specific experience.
Conditions of Employment:
- Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado.
- Must be willing and able to pass a criminal background check.
- Two (2) or more years of experience working with University of Colorado Systems, including: Concur, PeopleSoft, and/or Cognos.
- Master's degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare Management, or a substantially related field.
- Two (2) or more years of experience administering/managing grants and contracts.
- Experience working with QuickBooks accounting software.

- Extensive working knowledge of the eRA system used for electronic proposal development and tracking.

- Substantive knowledge and experience working with the ePERS system within the University.
