Position Summary: The Nurse Manager will manage and oversee the financial, operational, and personnel activities of the Internal Medicine clinic; assist in and/or perform the full range of clinical/ clerical duties of the employees they supervise; provide direct general medicine patient care, patient counseling, and patient instruction including assisting in identification of community resources; supervise schedules, prioritize and assign the work of the support staff.

Faculty: Minimum Qualifications Support Staff: Minimum Requirements Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year degree program in Nursing; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in nursing, management and supervision; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The position also requires possession of a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.

Desired Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in nursing and/or work experience in nursing or health care in outpatient primary care clinic.

Summary of Health Risks and Physical Demands (if applicable): Duties associated with this position involve exposure to human blood, serum, tissue and other body fluids, and materials covered under Universal Precautions, TB risk or work within 3 feet of human patients in a health care setting or have potential exposure to animal or specimens with Mycobaterium bovis, wear a respirator (does not include paper dust mask worn for comfort), risks that have been identified by Environmental Health and Safety, such as exposure to lead, chemotherapy, formaldehyde, asbestos, etc.
