Duties: The Wharton Public Policy Initiative is looking for an enthusiastic Application Developer to join their team. The candidate will execute advanced scraping and parsing with selenium. The Application Developer will lead multiple projects and manage junior staff to support the analytical needs of PWBM. This position will help develop a large-scale economics/ budget model. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for finding, analyzing and fixing bugs/performance problems. The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree in computer science or related fields such as engineering. Applicant should have at least 5 years of prior experience with software development and release of commercial software products and extensive experience in objected oriented modeling. In-depth knowledge of the following technologies are required: Git code repository, Javascript, Jquery CSS, LESS Bootstrap, and AWS S3. The ideal candidate will also know the following technologies, which can also be learned while on the job: Squarespace development environment, JSON templating, Highcharts and AWS (static asset management, S3 bucket policies, cors, custom domains, iam). Potential future technologies that we will use include: Firebase, Node.js, and Grunt / Gulp. This position requires the ability to work under tight deadlines within an Agile development framework. It is helpful to have familiarity with statistics and some experience in economics or finance or personal finance.

Qualifications: A bachelor's and 2-3 years of experience is required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
