The Sheila C. Johnson Center for Human Services (SCJC) in the Curry School of Education is seeking a highly qualified incumbent to serve as their SCJC Billing Specialist. The incumbent will be responsible for all client accounts for the center while efficiently coordinating the flow of information through all the required steps of the accounting/billing system(s) for the Center. This individual will provide consistent communication with a variety of constituents including healthcare service providers, clients and/or guardians, SCJC and Clinical staff members.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: utilizing healthcare claims submissions and medical account billing systems; processing billing and collections transactions/expenditures; maintaining efficient records in compliance with University Purchasing and Reconciliation policies; preparing reports and procuring purchases.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Experience with and aptitude for providing exemplary customer service to internal and external customers is essential. The ability to follow process and comply with policy including all HIPAA, federal, state and University policies, laws and regulations is also essential. Experience verifying insurance benefits and qualifying clients for services which require precertification is required. Preference will be given to those with a background in administration, medical account billing and collections, and financial administration experience.
