Job Description

3.1.14.1. Responsibilities
3.1.14.1.1. Analyze requirements for business intelligence reports and dashboards
3.1.14.1.2. Analyze data sources for mapping to Business Intelligence (BI) requirements
3.1.14.1.3. Work closely with customers to determine best approach for user community
3.1.14.1.4. Use Cognos Studios to develop reports, dashboards and widgets; create and execute test plans; coordinate lifecycle activities from development to production
3.1.14.1.5. Create and maintain Framework Manager Models to support requirements
3.1.14.1.6. Determine best approach for data delivery depending on data sources and requirements
3.1.14.1.7. Develop spreadsheets and Microsoft Access databases as needed to support interim strategies for data delivery

3.1.14.2. Minimum requirements
3.1.14.2.1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering, or related discipline
3.1.14.2.2. Experience in business process analysis
3.1.14.2.3. Experience in data analysis
3.1.14.2.4. Experience in software requirements analysis
3.1.14.2.5. At least three years' experience using Cognos Studios and Framework Manager to create models and develop reports, dashboards and widgets
3.1.14.2.6. At least six months experience using the version of Cognos currently employed at WMATA
3.1.14.2.7. Excellent communication skills

3.1.14.3. Preferred requirements
3.1.14.3.1. Experience with one or more of the following systems: Maximo, PeopleSoft, PeopleSoft EPM, NextFare, Trapeze
3.1.14.3.2. Experience in the transit industry

3.1.14.4. Experience levels
3.1.14.4.1. Level 1: 3 to 5 years Cognos experience
3.1.14.4.2. Level 2: 5 to 7 years Cognos experience
3.1.14.4.3. Level 3: more than 7 years Cognos experience
