Clark University’s Registrar’s Office seeks a professional to the fill the position of Assistant Registrar for Scheduling. This position’s main responsibilities include managing Registrar functions related to term course offerings, classroom assignments, final exam scheduling and the coordination of the annual revisions to the academic catalog. In addition, this position will have a special focus on building and maintaining a positive and productive working relationship with faculty, administration, and staff; as well as analyzing course, room, and enrollment data to inform processes and policies in support of the strategic initiatives of the University. Duties and Responsibilities The Assistant Registrar will have a range of responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, managing all aspects of course scheduling, including collaborating with the Scheduling Assistant to complete all necessary data entry and related tasks, assigning all classroom space and coordinating with Event Services for upload process using EMS system. The person in this role will be the main liaison for all academic and administrative departments related to annual catalog updates and new course approvals. The Assistant Registrar will manage the final exam schedule process twice a year, including creating the exam schedule, requesting exam requirements from faculty, scheduling exams in EMS, working with IT to post the exam schedule on website. The Assistant Registrar will analyze data related to course, room, and exam information and report the information to the University Registrar and other University offices as needed; will continually evaluate current processes within the office and recommend well-considered, detailed proposals for changes that would solve ongoing problems, make processing more efficient, or improve service to our community. Without exception, the Assistant Registrar will represent the Registrar’s Office and Clark University in a professional, helpful, prompt, and friendly manner with every person encountered while on campus and will complete other duties as assigned. Qualifications The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree and have two or more years’ experience in higher education, preferably in a Registrar’s Office or closely related administrative office. Experience using relational database Ellucian Banner is preferred, as well as demonstrated Microsoft Office Suite knowledge, including proficiency with Excel. The candidate will have excellent communication skills, a service orientation and possess a communication style and demeanor necessary to foster effective working relationships. In addition, the ideal candidate will have superb attention to detail, proven methods for ensuring accuracy, an innate ability to think creatively and innovatively to solve problems. Applicants should possess the ability think analytically and critically, maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times, learn quickly and understand how each process connects to the larger goals of the office and University.
