Job description

Duties: The Associate Director of the Graduate Student Center manages programming and resources to support 11,000+ graduate and professional students, particularly around academic support. The Associate Director is responsible for the planning and execution of New Student Orientation for 4,000+ new graduate and professional students. The Associate Director will also support the execution of several university-wide awards for graduate and professional students. The person in this position will also sit on university-wide committees and working groups, as assigned.

Qualifications: BA/BS required, advanced degree preferred plus 3-5 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience; experience in higher education required, preferably in graduate student support. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a sensitivity to the needs and concerns of diverse groups of students. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with faculty, administrators and student leaders. High level of organizational and administrative skills required. Excellent writing and presentation skills. Experience in program planning. Knowledge of Penn graduate programs a plus.
