Columbia College Chicago an acclaimed higher education institution set in the heart of Chicago, with over 6,800 undergraduate and graduate students, offering a distinctive curriculum that blends liberal arts, creative and media arts and business and the Audio Arts and Acoustics Department at Columbia College Chicago seeks applicants for two full-time tenure-track or tenured faculty positions beginning August, 2017.

Primary responsibilities involve teaching three classes a semester in audio arts and acoustics. Additional responsibilities include sustained engagement in research, creative and/or professional practice in audio arts and acoustics; advising students; serving on college-wide and departmental committees; contributing to curriculum development; contributing to community initiatives.

Candidates should have expertise and demonstrated teaching and research experience in one or more of the following areas:

Applied Acoustics, Vibration, Studio Design, Auditory Cognition, Auditory Scene Analysis, Networked Audio, Sound Design, Synthesis and Programming, Data Sonification, Audio Coding for Mobile Technologies, Research Methods.

Candidates should have a demonstrated capacity for research and practice in their areas, teaching experience in audio arts and applied acoustics, and a willingness to help build curriculum and mentor students.

The Audio Arts and Acoustics Department is one of four departments in the School of Media Arts, which includes Cinema and Television Arts, Communication, and Interactive Arts and Media.

A recognized terminal degree in Audio Arts, Acoustics or a related field is required.To apply please visit:
