The English Department at Minnesota State University Moorhead, a regional institution focused on undergraduate teaching, invites applications for two full-time, tenure-track, assistant professors of English, each with a PhD in Rhetoric and Composition (ABD considered). One position requires specialization in multimodal composition with an interest in composition theory, digital rhetoric, and/or visual rhetoric. The other position requires specialization in technical writing. For both positions, secondary areas of interest are open. Teaching responsibilities for both positions include English Composition as well as the opportunity to develop and teach courses in the candidates' area(s) of specialization.

Successful candidates will have a strong commitment to undergraduate instruction and advising, knowledge of current composition pedagogy, evidence of college-level teaching excellence, and evidence of scholarly engagement. Ongoing faculty responsibilities at MSUM include teaching, scholarship, service to students, service to the department, participation in assessment, and service to the larger community. This is a 9-month position with a 4/4 teaching load, beginning August 2018. Salary is commensurate with experience, as outlined in the IFO contract. PhD in Rhetoric/Composition and college-level teaching experience are required. ABD may be considered if a dissertation defense date has been set.
