Associate Division Chief

We are currently seeking to fill this faculty position in the Division of General Pediatrics at the Golisano Children’s Hospital of the University of Rochester.  This is a vibrant, large, multidisciplinary division with active clinical and research programs focusing on improving child health in the local community and beyond.

The Division of General Pediatrics seeks a general academic pediatrician with an interest in leadership, research, patient care, and teaching to serve as Associate Division Chief and help us maintain and grow our division’s academic focus.

Our ideal candidate will be an individual with strong scholarly credentials and a record of extramural research funding in child health services research.  The successful candidate will join an energetic group of faculty, staff, and trainees dedicated to improving the lives of underserved children and families through research, teaching, and clinical and policy impact.

The Associate Chief will work with the Division Chief, division administrator, fellowship director, and others to oversee divisional operations as they relate to our academic mission.  The Associate Chief will also help mentor junior faculty members and trainees in research and advocacy.  Activities will focus on  ensuring continued productivity of the division in high quality research and programs, with a focus on improving care for underserved children and families. 

The Associate Director is also expected to contribute to the academic mission of the division through participation in scholarly activities that may include: research/QI publications and grants, publications of clinical observations, reviews, chapters or books; participation in clinical trials, and/or clinical investigations; academic presentations, and review of manuscripts or grants. 

The ideal candidate is an MD or equivalent with a master’s degree in public health or a related field, or a PhD or equivalent with postdoctoral research experience in a related field.
