Responsibilities

The Senior Project Portfolio Management (PPM) Specialist executes complex or specialized projects and adapts project management best practices to help ensure the successful completion of projects within the ITS project portfolio. The Senior PPM Specialist serves as a trusted advisor to project managers distributed throughout the organization, and helps articulate IT project outcomes and deliverables in the context of strategic University initiatives in order to highlight business value.

Configures, administers and supports the PPM/ITSM platform system based on analysis and documentation of PPM related business processes. Develops training documentation for project managers and team members to enhance adoption of the PPM/ITSM platform. Leverages the PPM/ITSM platform to produce executive level reports regarding the ITS project portfolio, associated resource allocations, project risks and constraints, lessons learned, and sponsor satisfaction.
Coordinates the work of distributed or contracted project managers to ensure that high impact / high risk IT projects are delivered within the defined scope, quality, time and cost requirements.
Assists project managers with the practical application of PMBOK and Agile project management methodologies across ITS.
Serves as an advisor to the IT Governance Council, Student Technology Fee Committee, and other committees/councils that constitute the governance structure for operational and project-based work within ITS.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and four years' experience or a combination of post high school education and relative experience equal to eight years.
Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions.
Knowledge of principles and practices of project planning, development, and evaluation.
Skill in preparing clear and concise reports, policies, procedures, correspondences, and other written materials.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to convey technical information to technical and non-technical users.
Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop change or alternatives.
Ability to gather, interpret, report, and/or edit information.
Ability to strategically plan and serve as a catalyst for organizational change, cultivate a shared vision with others, and motivate others to transfer vision into action.
Ability to utilize problem solving skills.
Experience with a PPM tool such as TeamDynamix or ServiceNow
Experience coordinating and reporting on multiple teams and/or activities.
Experience in Project Management working in the role as Project Manager
Experience working with MS Project or similar software package.
Valid Driver's License

Preferred

PMP or ACP Certification
ITIL Foundations Qualification

Anticipated Salary Range

Anticipated Salary Range is $60,000 - $75,000, based on experience

Pay Plan

This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.

Schedule
