Office of Admissions.
Responsible for the daily processing and evaluation of all undergraduate and graduate application types and application credentials.
Assists the Mailroom Supervisor with the planning and management of the coding and indexing function of all applicant documents and credentials received in the Office of Admissions. Evaluates authenticity of applicant's academic records. Evaluates all incoming academic records for both applicants and currently enrolled students to determine if they are complete, official, and accurate. Stays abreast of, and interprets applicable international, federal, state, and university rules and regulations. Supervises and trains part-time staff responsible for the daily coding and indexing of incoming documents.
Assists with the daily processing and evaluation of all undergraduate and graduate application types. Assists in ensuring that all applications are processed in compliance with established state and university procedures, rules, policies, and guidelines. Updates the student information database and the applicant's folder to reflect current test scores and status of academic records received. Reviews the accuracy of applicant data submitted such as matriculation level, term, address, colleges/universities attended, dates of attendance, major, and judicial responses. Assists with the electronic matching of test scores and transcripts. Maintains confidentiality of student records and assists in guarding against fraudulent data. Reviews and makes recommendation for initial residency classification.
Assists with the coordination and execution of end-of-term cleanup processes to include the posting of degrees, cancellation of files, and auditing of applicant data for accuracy and completeness.
Participates in special events hosted by the Office of Admissions and Records such as Preview and counselor workshops. Assists other sections during peak times in support of the goals of the Office of Admissions and Records.
A high school diploma or equivalent and two years experience, or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to two years is required for consideration. Experience should be relevant and related to the responsibilities of the job. Qualified candidates should have experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook or comparable software. Qualified candidates should have experience prioritizing and organizing work assignments, and should have the ability to gather, interpret, report, and/or edit information.
A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of experience relevant and related to the responsibilities of the job are preferred. We seek energetic candidates who are detail-oriented, organized and can work well independently as well as in a team. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to multi-task, and should have a strong sense of initiative with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities concurrently. Preferred candidates will be familiar with university admissions application processes, and should be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Anticipated Salary Range
At or near $22,498.
This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.
If not otherwise specified, schedule is M-F, 8-5.
