General Summary: The University of North Georgia (UNG) is currently accepting applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Accounting in the Mike Cottrell College of Business (MCCB). This is a ten-month, tenure-track position with a start date of August 1, 2017. UNG is a University System of Georgia institution, and the MCCB is an AACSB-accredited college of business that offers programs in the North Georgia region. The MCCB serves more than 3,900 students in our service area. The position will be located at the Dahlonega or Gainesville campuses, which both offer abundant cultural and recreational opportunities as well as an outstanding quality of life.

Job Duties & Responsibilities: This position requires:
  • Teaching undergraduate and possibly graduate courses
  • Advising students
  • Engaging with the college, university, and business communities
  • Producing relevant and active scholarship consistent with AACSB accreditation standards
  • Contributing to a respectful and collegial college culture


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to innovative learning; produce relevant research in peer-reviewed journals; engage with the business community to further the goals of the Mike Cottrell College of Business; embrace an enthusiastic commitment to accounting education.
  • Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills as well as the interpersonal abilities to successfully work with students, faculty, as well as the university and regional communities.


Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in Accounting or related field is required at time of hire
  • Primary teaching and research responsibilities will be in accounting
