Bachelor's Degree. Demonstrated leadership responsibilities, strong academic credentials, and strong communication skills (verbal and written). Demonstrated experience managing a project(s) from concept to completion. Analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree. At least two (2) years of prior experience working in an academic or administrative office setting. Experience working with and analyzing data. Experience working in higher education. Prior office experience.

Brief Description of Duties:

The Executive Fellowship is a one-year renewable position, with the possibility of renewal for a second year. Reporting to the Chief Deputy to the President. This opportunity is being offered to help future leaders gain skills and competencies in the field of higher education administration. The successful applicant will have a track record of proven leadership ability, as well as strong academic record.

• Assist in developing and managing strategic initiatives and projects for the Chief Deputy and the President.

• Be knowledgeable of best practices to track and ensure the effective execution of projects.

• Conduct research and analysis on projects or for committee work when necessary and at times conduct research on special projects and implementation of programs initiated by the President.

• Work with the Assistant to the President for Policy, Compliance and Presidential Initiatives to carry out assignments and committee work independently of the Chief Deputy. This will require good judgment and tact.

• Attend and participate in meetings with the Chief Deputy to the President.

• When appropriate, coordinate meetings and events, research data for reports, prepare meeting agendas, draft letters, research information, compose reports and oversee related distribution (mailings, etc.).

• As a part of the executive administrative function, research and respond to various inquiries while directing other inquires if necessary to responsible administrators. Much of the information handled is highly confidential and sensitive in nature.

• Learn about management and leadership through participation in high-level management decisions.

• Assist in researching and analyzing data for managerial decisions, using a variety of computer applications requiring advanced skill.

• Develop and deploy relevant and effective project reporting and business metrics to assist the Chief Deputy to make informed data-driven decisions for the University.

• Monitor and evaluate progress toward goals and objectives of the President.

• Assist the President’s deputies and assistants in executing their responsibilities to ensure the mission and goals of the University are achieved.

• Assist in analyzing new opportunities for alignment with institutional priorities.

• Help translate vision and business objectives into operational and organizational strategy and results.

• Enhance relevant professional skills and understanding of University operations through participation in various training programs, courses, or other learning opportunities as appropriate.

• Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission.
