The University of Kentucky College of Nursing invites qualified applicants to apply for this full-time (12-month) tenure-track position with with primary teaching responsibility in the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program but may also provide a limited amount of teaching in areas of expertise in the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program to include classroom and online instruction. Other responsibilities include advising and mentoring PhD students and serving on PhD and DNP student advisory committees appropriate to expertise; maintaining an active, extramurally funded program of research; ongoing record of scholarship including with students; and service to the profession, university, and college. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Required Education

Research-focused doctorate in nursing or related field from an accredited college or university, confirmed by an official transcript from the degree granting institution.



Required Related Experience

The candidate will have a program of research and scholarship with expertise to complement one of the University and/or the College of Nursing strategic research areas: prevention and/or management of diseases with a high incidence in the state of Kentucky including cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and tobacco control; self-care of chronic conditions; health disparities; or health policy. The ideal candidate will have an established record of extramural research funding and scholarly productivity including peer reviewed publications and presentations; potential for research collaboration with other faculty members; experience teaching including online and/or distance learning format; and evidence of successful mentorship of doctoral students including student scholarship. Candidate should have a strong commitment to teaching, research, and service.



Required License/ Registration/Certification

The successful candidate with a nursing degree must be eligible for or hold licensure in the state of Kentucky.
