Job Description


The Manager, Financial Reporting and Analysis is responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual Sponsorship reporting and financial analysis and partners with the Sponsorship Team in the development of the annual budget and reforecasts. This position supports the development of assigned Functional/Business Team budgets and reforecasts and ensures they are compiled, analyzed and calculated in an accurate and timely manner. The Manager is responsible for detailed financial analysis, modeling and data mining. This position maintains a continuous improvement approach to enhance efficiency and maximize results.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Impact

Assists in providing input to their function's strategic objectives and operational plan. Assists in developing short-term plans and organizes resources to achieve results. Accountable for day to day decisions around execution of job, and for setting clear objectives and measures for self. Exercises independent judgment and discretion on significant matters related to functional area. Requires little or no supervision on routine work assignments, but may require supervision to review work progress and results on non-routine work assignments. Partners with stakeholders by delivering timely, accurate and complete analysis while focusing on customer service, continuous improvement, learning and education, analytical rigor, and a proactive approach with well-controlled processes. General regulations exist, but incumbent must interpret the regulations. Keeps manager informed of important issues. Builds effective relationships amongst their stakeholders and within their immediate or peer workgroup.

Sponsorship Financial Planning & Analysis (65%)
  • Prepare Sponsorship revenue and expense analytical model for the Sponsorship team to include acquisition and retention analysis, foreign exchange analysis, in support of annual budget and reforecasts processes
  • Timely prepare and facilitate monthly, quarterly and annual Sponsorship metric reviews and detailed financial analysis, publish monthly metrics
  • Manage monthly deliverables; revenue and expense reporting; member invoicing; preparing revenue entry for booking in Agresso and financial analysis on a timely basis
  • Assist with preparation of hedge agreements in support of Treasury; provides Sponsorship team with foreign exchange analysis and impact on monthly revenue results
  • Manage budget/reforecasts processes in support of Sponsorship Team; prepare and ensure integrity of the Sponsorship budget model, templates and training on budget process
  • Review and approve Sponsorship awards in Award Management System (AMS); ensure awarded funds from the budget match to the AMS granted sponsorship awards; support Global Sponsorship Operations team in the monthly review, acceptance or rejection of country office expenses
  • Serve as a liaison between Finance and Sponsorship Team

Business/Functional Team Reporting, Support and Analysis (25%)
  • Support assigned Functional/Business Teams by producing and analyzing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports on a timely basis; provide timely analysis for decision making
  • Meet monthly with budget managers and Sponsorship Finance Director to review monthly budget vs. actual expense reports, address areas of concern and ensure subsequent resolution; provide training and guidance as needed
  • Serve as liaison within Finance for assigned Functional/Business Teams to help achieve timely resolutions of financial issues; provide guidance in classifying expenses and budgets to ensure proper reporting
  • Support assigned Functional/Business Teams with annual budget process and budget reforecast revisions by providing guidance and capacity building to support annual planning cycle

Manage updates and coding in Agresso and BBEC (5%)
  • Map all new designations created in BBEC; work with Resource Development, Sponsorship, Finance Cash Receipts (CR) and accounting staff to confirm fundable revenue combinations to be used to book revenue
  • Create, link and update project and free codes as needed in Agresso
  • Update changes to budget holders, cost center, department, and unit information as requested

Ad Hoc Analysis (5%)
  • Use analytical tools to provide financial information, analysis, and reports on an as needed basis to stakeholders and supervisor; perform other job duties as may be required

Required Background and Experience, Skills and Behaviors
  • BA/BS in Finance/Accounting or a related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in planning, budgeting and analysis
  • Strong budgeting/finance skills
  • Technical skills of data mining, financial analysis, budgeting, financial modeling and forecasting
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in foreign exchange analysis
  • Accurate and detail oriented with ability to complete work in timely manner
  • Ability and desire to learn new concepts/skills quickly and manage complex tasks, programs or projects
  • Communication skills - possess strong written and verbal communication skills and can communicate clearly with thoughtful, accurate information
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and organizational skills
