The journal features research articles, reflective essays and symposia, and serves as the official book review outlet for the American Political Science Association. Perspectives on Politics is published quarterly and receives over 350 article manuscripts a year and reviews almost 400 books per year. The journal plays a key role in the political science discipline in promoting debate and dialogue on important intellectual and policy concerns pertaining to the study of politics in the US and globally.



This position oversees all logistical operations of the journal, including manuscript tracking systems, pre-production, production, and post-production processes. In addition, this position is responsible for the management of the peer-review process, supervision of editorial assistants, and coordination with Cambridge University Press on the production and marketing of the journal. This position reports to the Editor and Associate Editor, and is expected to participate in staff meetings, editorial board meetings, workshops, and other professional conferences as required. This position also will help manage the budget and collaborate with the APSA publications staff.

The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, and includes a benefits package.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in political science or related field.
  • Proven organizational skills required to meet publication milestones and strict deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills necessary to work effectively with editors, editorial staff, authors, reviewers, and publisher.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as both a leader and member of a team.
