Assistant/Associate Professor - Special Education
Fayetteville State University is a constituent institution of the University of North Carolina and the second oldest public institution of higher education in the state. Description Of Work:
The Department of Middle Grades, Secondary and Specialized Subjects (MSSS) department is committed to providing academic quality in educator preparation and support services leading to candidate degree attainment and skill development in the areas of:
( a ) teaching academic content using current technology,
( b ) developing content connections within diverse learning environments,
( c ) reflecting on teacher beliefs and assumptions, and
( d ) engaging in continuous professional development.
The MSSS department is further committed to strengthening faculty involvement in research, professional development and community engagement to enhance candidate and P-12 student outcomes and teacher quality in response to 21st Century, southeastern region of North Carolina communities and global expectations.
Will teach special education undergraduate and graduate courses in the special education program; conduct research, develop grant proposals, write articles for publication, and engage in other scholarly activities; serve the department, school, university, and community in various capacities; supervise/mentor pre-service and in-service special educators; participate in department and School of Education meetings and serve on select and related committees; serve as advisor to students who pursue MAT, MEd or a special education concentration as assigned by the chairperson
Minimum Education And Experience Requirements:
Doctorate in Special Education OR Ph.D./Ed.D. in a related field WITH a Master’s in Special Education from accredited institutions
ABD applicants will be considered for an Instructor level position.
