Director of Institutional Effectiveness
Landmark College, located in beautiful southern Vermont, is the nation’s premier institution of higher education for students who learn differently. We have an immediate opening for a Director of Institutional Effectiveness. The director supports the College’s student success agenda through the development of exemplary data-driven processes, practices and analytics.
The director is a systems thinker and a change agent who collaborates with the Registrar to improve student information data systems, data analysis, and communication.
Reporting directly to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the director leads, coordinates, and supports college-wide institutional effectiveness activities. This individual is responsible for the collection, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of institutional data and analytics in support of Landmark College’s accreditation process, learning outcomes assessment/program review, external reporting requirements, internal information needs, development of performance metrics, and strategic planning. The director is also called upon to advise and educate end-users on data sources and self-service tools to support data-driven decision making across the college.
Qualifications: Essential qualifications include: A Master’s Degree in Education or research-related discipline is required (a Ph.D. is preferred), along with a history of increasing responsibility within the fields of institutional research or assessment. A fully developed understanding of empirical research methods, qualitative and quantitative analysis, and survey administration, is required. A strong working knowledge of data analysis and statistics is required. Strong planning, organizational, written and oral communication skills are essential, as is a working familiarity of post-secondary issues in the field of learning disabilities, teaching methodologies, and educational and residential programs of the College. The ability to manage multiple priorities and handle sensitive/confidential information is critical. Familiarity and competence with appropriate technology is required, such as data analytics platforms used to create reports and dashboards. Competence in using SPSS, Access, Excel, integrated database technologies, and other technology useful in research is expected. Working knowledge of Ellucian Power Campus, Ellucian Analytics, Envisions’ Argos Analytics and SharePoint is preferred.
