Job description

Duties: The Assistant Director oversees programming and resources to support 11,000+ graduate and professional students, particularly around personal development, health and wellness, and arts and recreational activities. The Assistant Director also oversees and manages Center communications, including the website, newsletters, and social media presence. The Assistant Director will oversee the administration of a new grant initiative for PhD health insurance expansion, in collaboration with the Director of the Graduate Student Center. The Assistant Director also plans and executes large-scale activities out of the Graduate Student Center, including graduation functions.

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree plus 2-3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience; work experience preferably in higher education. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a sensitivity to the needs and concerns of diverse groups of students. Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with faculty, administrators and student leaders. High level of organizational and administrative skills. Excellent writing and presentation skills. Work experience with social media. Experience in program planning. Knowledge of Penn graduate programs a plus.
