RESEARCH SPECIALIST B
Duties: The Research Specialist B will work closely with Principal investigator in the development of experiments and data analysis. Under minimal supervision, he/she will work independently to manage daily research projects, data collection and organization of the Core laboratory. He/she must be able to identify and resolve technical problems, and use analytical and decision making skills to implement assigned projects. Essential job functions include applying a variety of techniques and methods to studying mRNA mediated gene editing in mice and rats. In addition to the duties above, Specialist B will be expected to take a project leadership role and will be required to analyze and present data at meetings as well as contribute to writing manuscripts.
Qualifications: .A Bachelor's Degree, preferably in biological/chemical sciences, and 1 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Experience in purification of DNA is required. Knowledge of the proper handling of RNA is preferred. Training and mentoring will be provided.
